Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful fathers in the world. May God bless you and keep you, may He be gracious to you and may His countenance shine upon you.

For those who have lost their fathers,

Those who do not know what it feels like to have a father,

Remember God is a father to the fatherless:

‘A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.’ Psalm 68:5

God is a father to His children:

‘See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.’ 1 John 3:1

If you haven’t made your way right with God by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and repenting of your sins, I encourage you to so you can experience the Father’s love:

‘For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish but have everlasting life.’ John 3:16

God’s love is so real, He says in His word:

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.’ Romans 8 37-39

‘See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.’ Isaiah 49:16

‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29:11

And if you have a father:

Listen to your father, who gave you life,
and do not despise your mother when she is old.’
Proverbs 23:22

‘Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)’ Ephesians 6:2

I pray God grants our fathers long lives and may they live to reap the fruits of their labour and see their children’s children in Jesus’ Name.
